303
"I need to stop looking for myself outside and look inside."
Journey: Sometimes it is an escape, sometimes it is a situation of wanting to lose oneself or wanting to find oneself by exploring, which helps a person not to lose hope. Why do you like traveling? One of the reasons why I love traveling is to listen to the stories of people I meet by chance and to analyze within myself, and of course, the other best reason is to discover new places. Even though I don't always have random events like in romantic movies, traveling must be a good way for a person to find himself. The movie 303 made me love the journey even more, just like Before Sunrise and When Harry Met Sally.
I would like to briefly talk about the movie 303. Jan and Jule are two different people living in Berlin, and their paths cross during a trip. Jule, who owns an old caravan, finds out that she is pregnant and decides to go to Portugal to tell her boyfriend the news. But he meets Jan at a gas station. The reason Jan is on the road is because he wants to find his biological father. Continuing the journey together, Jan and Jule begin to chat about controversial topics such as capitalism, human nature and love.
"A man, a woman and a caravan"
I think the realest love story in the world takes place during the journey. Traveling is the best way to get to know a person. Because you can talk, present your ideas and discuss for hours. Life is real, capitalism is real, human nature is real, relationships between men and women are real. Soap opera-like love stories can save our days and entertain us, but what about the events in real life in the globalizing world we live in? Why don't we discuss and question these and why don't we transfer them to the cinema? This is one of the movies that helped me during my questioning. When people watch this movie, I'm sure they will think that this cannot be a romantic movie, but while watching the movie, you will question and approve of both characters rather than looking for romance in the movie, or you will say "no, they are wrong". I recommend you watch this movie to not be afraid of criticism and to gain different perspectives.
"Humans are the only living beings on this planet who can live constantly worrying about themselves. About their fears, needs and vulnerabilities. We think about the future, we think about the past, what we did wrong, what we did right. We think, we think.
